About the Academy
Young Australians are the future of our industry.
The Austral Academy was launched to connect with young Aussies and amplify the visibility of the many exciting opportunities, pathways, and professional careers available in the seafood industry.
We achieve this through on-site school visits and careers expos throughout Australia, in addition to engaging Austral’s experienced team of General Managers and Operations leaders who provide mentoring, support, and on-the-job training to our Academy members!
School & Careers Events
We launched the Academy in mid-2022, and it’s been hugely popular with schools, teachers, kids, and careers expos since then!
We’re continuously increasing our engagements with schools, training organisations and event organisers to connect with more young Australians looking for alternative career options.

Academy News Spotlight
In exciting news, the Austral Academy has partnered with the Marine Stewardship Council’s Saltwater Schools education program. The Saltwater Schools collection of free classroom resources supports marine education and ocean literacy for years 5 to 10.
Resources are grouped by subject, with additional collections for First Nations Fishing, World Ocean Day and National Science Week.
