Recently, our team had the opportunity to engage with students at two key stages of their education, sharing insights into career pathways within the commercial fishing industry and the broader seafood sector.
From the Australian Maritime College to Cairns State High School, we had the opportunity to connect with students about seagoing pathways through the Austral Academy and showcasing careers in commercial fishing. From fishing methods to sustainability and fisheries management, it’s all about equipping the next generation with knowledge, opportunity, and a deeper understanding of our oceans.
Engaging with students at both secondary and tertiary levels is an important part of building awareness and understanding of the industry. Through this we hope to inspire future careers and support a strong, sustainable future for Australia’s seafood sector.
