Last week, Sea Shepherd announced they would be going back down to the Southern Ocean this summer to try and track down the last vestiges of toothfish pirates who are illegally fishing for Antarctic toothfish on the high seas.
Last summer was a success with 6 illegal vessels at different periods being detained, fined, scuttled and having their catch confiscated thanks to an international effort including national governments, INTERPOL, NGOs and industry.
Here’s to hoping they can track down and stop the last of these illegal vessels, the Kunlun and the Viking.
