The Octopus
Western Rock Octopus (Octopus djinda) is sustainably caught in the pristine waters along the southern coast of Western Australia and is endemic to this region.

The Fishery
Harvest of Western Rock Octopus in Western Australia is managed by a formal harvest strategy by Western Australian Fisheries Department.
The Fishery is certified ‘sustainable’ by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC). Octopus are caught in traps on small to medium size vessels that unload catches daily. Octopus are sent fresh to processing facilities for further processing and value adding into smaller food service packs . 1kg packs of ‘Octopus Hands’ is the most popular specification sold in the Australian domestic market.

Sustainability
South West Octopus caught from the south & west coasts of Western Australia are independently certified as sustainable and well managed by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC). Beyond looking after the sustainability of Octopus stocks for future generations, South West Octopus are also certified ‘carbon neutral’ under the Australian Government Climate Active Program. 190,000 Australian native trees are planted in Western Australia annually to offset the companies carbon emissions.
