AUSTRAL FISHERIES PROUD SUPPORTERS OF 2019 PORT TO PUB

Austral Fisheries are proudly supporting the 2019 Hotel Rottnest ‘Port to Pub’ swim.

The event is held in Perth, Western Australia and comprises two open-water swimming races. Swimmers depart from Leighton Beach and set their course for Rottnest Island, with options of a 19.7km direct crossing or a 25km ultra-marathon swim.

The Port to Pub was designed to cater for the increased demand for long distance swimming and the interest from local, interstate and international swimmers to cross the iconic Rottnest Channel.

There are four categories available to participants, with the option to swim solo, in a duo, or in teams of four or six. The swim officially beings outside Fremantle Surf Lifesaving Club and finishes at the Hotel Rottnest.

Austral Fisheries team members Sam Colvin and Theo Kailis will be taking part in the event. Sam is tackling it as a duo, expecting to swim between 10 – 15 kms during the race, while Theo is in a team of 6. Both Theo and Sam have been training hard in the lead-up to the event.

The 25km ultra-marathon swim is open to qualified solo swimmers. It is the longest open water swim on offer in Australia, and one of the longest in the Southern Hemisphere.

Port to Pub’s aim is to attract world-class, elite swimmers to compete in the event as part of the world calendar for marathon swimming.

Austral Fisheries would like to wish Sam, Theo and all participants taking part tomorrow a safe and successful swim.
