Austral Fisheries are currently seeking Deck and Fishing Hands for prawn trawlers working the Gulf of Carpenteria and our vessel working in the Timor Reef Fishery.
Commencing March 2019, the roles will require, but are not limited to, the following:
Deckhands:
- Sort, clean, process, preserve and package catches
- Load, unload and stow supplies and equipment
- Operate dinghies
- Operate winches and other deck equipment
Applicants must be ;
- Physically fit (a medical examination may be required)
- An awareness of maritime safety issues
- Good hand-eye coordination
- A good sense of balance
- Able to cope with the physical demands of the job
- Able to work as part of a team
- Able to undertake training prior to the sailing.
